Complex 13

In my eighth grade critical literacy class, we were asked to create short movie book trailers.  My group chose the ebook “Complex 13” written by Matthew Reilly.  For our project, I went through the story and highlighted interesting and important details that would be ideal to use in the trailer.  We spent time in class working on this project and then went home to film.  My group even had a chance to go on location and shoot with a real helicopter.  Throughout the filming process, I experimented with new shots and angles.  During editing, I continued experimenting, this time with my cuts and audio.  For a short fifteen seconds of the film, I used over fourteen layers of audio track to create a true immersive feeling of an alien, monster attack.  This class project quickly became one my favorite films that I have made.  It shows all of the techniques that I have been taught and also utilizes creative ideas that I thought of on the spot filming.
